Frequently Asked Questions
Does the order I enter the two dates matter?
No. The calculator automatically identifies which date is earlier (older) and reports the magnitude of the gap along with a label showing who is older.
What does 'older was that age on' mean?
It shows the calendar date on which the older person was the exact same age (in whole years) that the younger person is today. It is a useful way to compare where each person was in their life at the same age.
Why are total days and years-months-days different measures?
Total days is the raw count of elapsed days. The years-months-days breakdown uses calendar arithmetic and tells you the gap in human-readable units, which is more natural for describing age differences.
Can I use this for twins born on the same day?
Yes, but the result will be 0 years, 0 months, 0 days, since this tool works at day resolution. For same-day births the difference in hours and minutes would require birth times, which this tool does not support.
