Frequently Asked Questions
Why does one weekday sometimes appear 53 times in a year?
A 365-day year has 52 complete weeks plus one extra day. Whichever day of the week January 1 falls on gets an extra occurrence. In a 366-day leap year, two weekdays get 53 occurrences.
Does the count include both the start and end dates?
Yes. The range is inclusive of both endpoints. A range from Monday to Friday (one week) counts exactly 5 weekdays and 0 weekend days.
How is the percentage calculated?
Each weekday's percentage is (count for that day / total days) times 100, rounded to one decimal place. For a 365-day range, Monday through Saturday that appears 52 times is 52 / 365 ≈ 14.2%.
Can I use this to count business days in a quarter?
Yes for the raw Monday-Friday count. For true business days you would need to subtract public holidays manually, since this tool does not have a holiday calendar.
