Each participant's local working window is translated to a common UTC baseline by subtracting their UTC offset (UTC hour = local hour − offset). The overlap is then the latest start time and the earliest end time across all participants in UTC: overlap = [max(start_i), min(end_i)]. If the earliest end is at or before the latest start, no slot satisfies everyone and the tool reports no overlap. Otherwise it converts the shared UTC window back into each person's local clock time.

Worked Example

Three colleagues: New York (UTC−5, 9 to 17), London (UTC+0, 9 to 17), and Bangalore (UTC+5.5, 9 to 17). In UTC their windows are 14 to 22, 9 to 17, and 3.5 to 11.5 respectively. The latest start is 14:00 UTC; the earliest end is 11:30 UTC. Since 11:30 < 14:00, there is no overlap - a classic three-continent scheduling problem with strict 9-to-5 windows. Drop Bangalore: New York + London overlap 14:00 to 17:00 UTC, which is 9 AM to 12 PM in New York and 2 PM to 5 PM in London - a comfortable three-hour band.
